The Three and the Firstborn[]
- Oberon, Titania, and Maeve create Faerie.
- Oberon marries Maeve; the Luidaeg is born. Oberon later marries her sister Titania; Eira is born. Other Firstborn come into being as well.
- Men and fae hunt and kill many of the Firstborn; Titania's children target Maeve's children without consequence.[1]
Roane and Merlins[]
- 520: Eira arranges for humans to kill the Roane and steal their pelts in hopes of becoming immortal. Those humans' children, horrified, kill their parents and bring the pelts to the Luidaeg. The Luidaeg binds the children to the pelts, creating the Selkies.[2][3]
- 572: Merlins, frustrated with being routinely slaughtered by purebloods who fear their erratic power, rebel against their faerie kin. The Luidaeg betrays her own siblings to help the Roane merlin Emrys win the battle.[5]
- 610: The Luidaeg calls upon Emrys, now called Merlin, and bids him to sacrifice Camelot for the sake of the fae. He refuses and is put into a magical slumber.[6]
- ???: In response to the merlin rebellion, Oberon creates hope chests to allow changelings and mixed-bloods to shift to one heritage or another.[citation needed]

The Three Disappear[]
- c. 1500s: Tam Lin is selected as a sacrifice for the Maeve's Ride. He and Janet of Caughterha fall in love, and Eira tells Janet how to break the ride to rescue her lover. Janet succeeds in rescuing Tam Lin, but a sacrifice must still be made. Maeve curses Janet with immortality,[7] then gives herself to the Heart of Faerie as the sacrifice.[8]
- Seven years later, Titania refuses to complete the next Ride and release Maeve. In order to keep balance and teach her humility, Oberon curses Titania to live as a series of changelings with no knowledge of her true identity or powers. She is also compelled to erase all evidence of her time in these identities, which includes murdering any offspring that are produced.[8]
- Having completed the geas on Titania, Oberon withdraws into obscurity as well.[8]
- Late 1500s/Early 1600s:
- September is born to Glynis and Septimius Torquill[9] Sylvester and Simon Torquill are born to Septimius and Celaeno, and a hope chest is used to remove their human blood.[10][11] While the twins are young, September and her parents visit the Deeper Realms as a vacation.[10]
- Sylvester is squired to Malcolm ap Learianth; Malcolm and September are introduced.[12]
- Oberon takes Janet as a lover and the two are seen together at Court. Amandine is born, although Oberon is not present for her naming.[13][14]
- Amandine's Firstborn siblings recognize the need to hide her, so they arrange for her to foster with the Torquills.[citation needed]
- Oberon recognizes the need to withdraw from Faerie and let his descendants govern themselves. He bids farewell to the Luidaeg, sends all the fae to the Summerlands, and seals the doors to deeper Faerie.[15]

- 1646: Tybalt, then called Rand, is born. His mother gives him and his sister, Colleen, over to the Ainmire to be raised as heirs to the Court of Fogbound Cats.[16]
- ???: Septimius and Glynis Torquill die in battle against the Kingdom of Camulodunum. Celaeno dies shortly after.[18]

- 1666: A Roane prophesies the Great Fire of London. Ainmire refuses to protect the Cait Sidhe living there, so Tybalt challenges and kills his father for the throne. He becomes King of Fogbound Cats in Londinium and banishes all other Cait Sidhe from the city, becoming a king with no subjects.
- 1676: Tybalt falls for a newly-made Selkie named Dylan. The two have a relationship until Dylan is killed by his own people, leaving Tybalt alone once again.
- c. 1690: Across the world, Dianda Lorden is born to the Duchy of Saltmist.[21]
- 1699-1700: Tybalt's sister Colleen has an affair with Prince Santon of the Divided Courts. His sister Cyne, who covets the throne, kills Santon when she learns Colleen is pregnant. Cailin is born.[22]
- Colleen requests Tybalt's help for herself and her child. He confronts King Heydon and Queen Lettice, who consider Cailin a threat to the throne. He reluctantly agrees to use a hope chest to remove the Daoine Sidhe fro Cailin's blood so that she cannot inherit the Divided Court's throne. [22]
- 1707: Cyne kidnaps Cailin and attempts to use her to summon the absent Eira Rosynhwyr. Tybalt and Colleen rescue Cailin, and Colleen maims Cyne.[23]
- 1709: Tybalt is convinced to allow a few more Cait Sidhe into his court, including the young Princess of Cats Chalcedony,[24]
- 1711: Cailin, struggling to access her latent Cait Sidhe abilities, seeks out her paternal grandparents for answers. Heydon and Lettice reject her. Tybalt realizes that she retained the Daoine Sidhe's strengths in illusions, despite it being removed from her blood.[25] Tybalt asks September Torquill to teach Cailin illusion magic, and he gets to know her husband Malcolm ap Learianth during the lessons.[9][20]
- 1713: Cyne returns to Londinium and Tybalt fears for Cailin's safety. He assures the Divided Court monarchs that harm to her would result in war with the Cait Sidhe.[26]
- The monarchs of Londinium dissolve September's marriage to Malcolm out of prejudice. Tybalt uses an obscure decree from a previous monarch to claim September's hand in marriage, which he them gives back to Malcolm.[27]
- 1714: Enraged at being bested by Tybalt, Heydon and Lettice wage a stealthy war against the Cait Sidhe of Londinium. They offer bounties for any who kills Cait Sidhe and mortal cats both. Tybalt agrees to leave Londinium to end the slaughter, and cedes his throne to Colleen, who takes up her mantle as Queen of Cats.[28]
- 1715: Tybalt takes refuge in the Kingdom of Letauia.
- While visiting Armorica, he saves Queen Morane from an attempted coup. A changeling girl, Rozenn, had been coerced by her Daoine Sidhe father to attempt to kidnap Morane. Tybalt takes Rozenn into his service to save her from execution.[17]
- While visiting the Kingdom of Armorica, he reluctantly claims the Court as his own and is immediately struck by a curse laid upon the land which forces Cait Sidhe and Daoine Sidhe to hate one another.
- Tybalt seeks out the Firstborn Hirsent, who bids him to kill the Bridge Troll Ealhstan in order to lift the curse. With the help of a Roane child, Tybalt does so.[29][30]
- Tybalt returns to Armorica and takes his place as the local King of Cats. Morane is not pleased to share leadership with the Court of Cats but cannot refuse his presence. In exchange for breaking the curse, Letauia's Queen of Cats Privela promises to find him an heir.
- 1732: Over the years, Tybalt and Rozenn have become like family. Now, Rozenn's father visits and offers her use of a hope chest to become pureblood Daoine Sidhe. She refuses.[31]

- 1959: The Luidaeg confronts Amandine about giving Toby the Changeling's Choice, and persuades Sylvester to do it himself. Toby chooses Faerie. Amandine and Toby's deaths are staged and they move to the Tower full-time.[48][49]
- 1965: January and Li Quin meet.[38]
- 1972: Elizabeth Ryan falls in love with Annie.[50]
- 1960s-1970s: Amandine treats Toby as little more than a neglected pet. Toby seeks refuge in Shadowed Hills whenever possible.[47]
- Toby and Connor date as teenagers.[citation needed]
- Toby becomes friends first with Mitch, then with Stacy, Kerry, and Julie.[citation needed]
- c. 1970 (or c. 1990): Dawn Winterrose is murdered.[51][49]
- 1977: When Toby is twenty-five[citation needed] she runs away from Amandine's Tower with her changeling friends, though she stays in contact with Sylvester. They live on the street until Devin takes them in, whereupon they become a general nuisance to fae society.[47]

- 1992: Toby dates Cliff Marks. When she learns she is pregnant, she asks Devin to leave Home. Devin will only release her if the Divided Courts acknowledge her as an equal.[51]
- Toby is present when the Queen in the Mist's knowe collapses. She gets Evening's support in finding the Queen a new knowe and being knighted for her efforts. Devin releases her.[51] (Note: Events disputed within canon.)
- July 1993: Gillian Marks is born.[51] Toby takes up work as a private investigator in the human world.
