Author's Summary[]
This is set several years after "Stage of Fools," and moves us a little closer to Tybalt's eventual departure from London. Everyone knows it's not going to be easy.
Tybalt and his sister adjust to their new London.[1]
Plot []
Colleen and her seven-year-old daughter Cailin interrupt Tybalt's nap. The three are the only Cait Sidhe in Londinium, as Tybalt has not yet rebuilt the Court which he banished before the London fires. Tybalt cajoles Cailin to try shifting into her cat form, but she cannot.
While he and Colleen supervise Cailin playing with some human children, a sleeping spell overcomes them all. When Tybalt recovers, Cailin is gone. He and Colleen track her into the Summerlands, where an Ellylon girl says that Cyne has taken Cailin to the Tower of Eira Rosynhwr. They enter the tower to find Cyne watching over Cailin, pleading Eira to return. They berate Cyne, Colleen slashing her eye, and reclaim Cailin.
