The Kingdom of Silences is a sub-kingdom of the Westlands and is directly north of the Kingdom in the Mists. It roughly covers the state of Oregon and is ruled by Queen Siwan Yates. It shares territory with the Court of Whispering Cats.

Silences covers the state of Oregon and had been ruled by the Yates family, with the Davies family acting as court alchemists. They respected the treatment of changelings enough to instigate a war when the False Queen took power.
The Kingdom's knowe also houses Ceres, a Blodynbryd and the third eldest daughter of Acacia and Blind Michael. Ceres spent her entire life watching the Davies children grow up, and has become an integral part of the royal family's lives.
History[]
Shortly after the false Queen of the Mists' ascension, the Kingdom of Silences, ruled by the Tylwyth Teg Yates family, declared war over her treatment of changelings in her territory. It was revealed that the Cu Sidhe, believing that they were seen as pets as opposed as equals, had betrayed the Yates family and gave the False Queen an opening to victory.
Walther was the only Silences royal family member to escape, but not before he promised Ceres to find a cure for elf-shot. Marlis however was not so lucky, having been captured and drugged into being Rhys's seneschal.
After the Yates family was deposed and elf-shot, the Queen of the Mists set up the Tuatha de Dannan courtier Rhys as the puppet king of Silences. Under his rule, fae with animal qualities were heavily discouraged or banned from the Court (an irony considering that the Cu Sidhe were key in the false Queen's victory) and an underclass of changeling servants was cultivated. He was sadistic enough to dismember the royal family and use their own body parts for potions with Marlis conscious of what he was doing for almost a century. Ceres for the most part had been left alone, however Rhys plucks the roses she tends to as a form of retaliation for her loyalty towards the Yates family.
The false King was eventually overthrown by Toby, Tybalt, Walther, Quentin, May and Ceres, who devised a cure for elf-shot and in turn elf-shot the false King and the false Queen of the Mists, though the latter had to be discouraged from being killed by Tybalt. Tia had been arrested for her role in betraying the Yates family, but she believed King Rhys had killed them.[1]
Dugan Harrow impersonated a servant in order to smuggle into the Silences staff during the Harvest festival and awaken the False Queen, constructing an illusionary body from pumpkins and leaves. He however left King Rhys untouched.
