The High Kingdom of the Westlands is a fae region and government that correlates to the mortal lands of North America. All fae and and changelings on the continent answer to the High Court, with the exception of Firstborn and Cait Sidhe.
The High Monarchs have the power to confirm regents of sub-kingdoms[1] and to grant pardons for violations of Oberon's Law.[2] They can also pass resolutions that apply to all of their subjects, such as banning certain substances.[3]

- High King Aethlin Sollys and High Queen Maida Sollys

Court[]
The ruling family's knowe is in the sub-Kingdom of Maples, located in Toronto. They maintain Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador as their own private holdings, ruling them directly rather than through a lower kingdom.[4]
History[]
The Westlands were founded in the late 1700s, around the time of the American Revolutionary War. The Kingdom of Ash and Oak, located in New York, was the original contender for becoming the High Monarch's seat of power. However, the Roane prophecised that New York City would be overtaken by iron within a generation, thus making it uninhabitable to fae. Due to this, the Kingdom of Maples - and its reigning king, Oakley Sollys, was tapped for the honor of leadership.
A sanitized version of this history told during High Court tours claims that Maples was chosen to show that the the fae valued the lands of Canada, not just the lands the humans in the American Colonies had deemed important.
