Glastigs are a type of land fae known for their powers of persuasion and goat features. They first appear in Rosemary and Rue.

About[]

Glastigs are similar to satyrs, with human torsos and goat legs from the thigh down. They also have goat ears.

Glastigs have the natural power to persuade individuals - human and fae - into doing what they want. Changelings have the same power, though at a limited scale; although Selkies are more vulnerable to influence from changelings than most fae as they are closer to human.[citation needed]

Characters[]

Bucer O’Malley[]

Bucer is a Glastig changeling. He is an opportunistic thug who occasionally did work for Devin, and now works as an informant for hire. Toby and Julie referred to to him as as a "bargain bin Satyr."[1] Due to his role in providing Rayseline information to kidnap the Lorden boys and Gillian, Bucer ran away from the Mists, and is currently acting as an informant for the Kingdom of Angels as punishment from stealing from the late king's treasury.

Lowri[]

Lowri first served the Yates family in the Kingdom of Silences. When the Rhys was installed on the throne, she was compelled to work for the false Queen of the Mists, but readily changes allegiances to Arden Windermere and now acts as Arden's Captain of the Guard.[2]

Mythology[]

In Scottish folklore, the Glaistig is a vampiric fairy that inhabits pools. She is a beautiful, grey-skinned woman with long, flowing hair and wearing a long green dress in order to conceal the fact that the lower-half of her body is that of a goat, complete with hooves for feet. The Glaistig preys on adult men, luring them to their pools with their siren songs and draining them of their blood. Despite their vampiric tendencies, the Glaistig can also be helpful to humanity by guarding cattle and livestock as well as protecting children, the elderly, and dim-witted individuals. In return for such favors the Glaistig will be happy to accept libations of milk. They have the powers of fairy glamour, shape-shifting, and a bewitching siren-like song by which they entice their prey.[3][4]
